Description

Double Pitch Carbon Steel to Din 8181

These Series of Chains have been developed from their shorter pitch relatives, so as to provide a series of light duty chains with a longer pitch by ultizing most of the components of it short pitch relatives and just doubling the pitch.

Example: 208B chain has the same Pin, Bush & Roller as 08B-1 chain with the difference being the side plates has been increased in length so as to double the pitch length to 1″

Although these chains have been traditionally used in the Agricultural market, there has been an increase in use for applications where a light weight drive chain is required over long centres. Due to this demand there is now a number of manufacturers who now produce alternative types providing an increase range of supply possibilities, including Plated and Stainless Steel with or without extended pins and K1 attachment links, for full details please contact our Sales Department.

Precision Roller Chains: as the company offers a combined range, that is produced by a number manufacturers from around the World, they have adopted the following Quality Standards :-

  1. All chains have been produced in plant that is Certified to ISO 9001.
  2. These chains confirm to DIN 818 Standard of specification and quality.
  3. Work standard chains not covered by the above standards will conform to the appropriate Manufacturer’s Standard.

Parts & Tools

Connecting Links:-Sizes up to & inclusive of 1”Pitch(16B) are available in SPRING CLIP TYPE and for Size 1”Pitch(16B) & above would COTTERED or SPLIT PIN TYPE

Offset/Crank Link: Single Pitch type only!

Chain Breakers: use 3/8″ to 3/4″ for 208B, 210B & 212B. use 3/4″ to 1-1/4″ for 212B & 220B

Attachments

Standard Types are:

  • Extended Plain Pins One side or Both. (These can be on every pin or at intervals along a supply length)
  • Extended Grooved Pin One side or Both (These can be on every pin or at intervals along a supply length)

Attachments Side Plates:

  • K1 Bent with One Fixing Hole on One side or Both.
  • K2 Bent with Two Fixing Holes on One side or Both.
  • M1 Vertically Straight with One Fixing
  • M2 Vertically Straight with Two Fxing Holes on One side or Both.

Alternative Types

The American Equivalent Series have more design options that include, Larger Pitch Range, Straight Side Plates, Large Carrier Rollers, Hollow Pin,Outboard Rollers, Thicker Plate Types etc. View American equivalent.

Tips

Identifying a Roller Chain. The mininium information you must have is: Pitch, Roller Diameter, Inner Width, but with popular pitches like 1/2″ it is also adviseable to have Plate thickness & Pin diameter.

As these chains have the same roller diameter and inner width of the short pitch 08B1-208B, 10B1-210B, 12B1-212B, 16b1-216b, 20B1-220b, 28B1-228b & 32b1-232B chains then you can use the corresponding B1 short pitch Sprockets by driving off every other tooth.
