Description
For British Standard Roller Chains to BS 228-DIN 8187-ISO 606R
This Standard Range of Duplex Roller Chain Sprockets are to suit British Standard Roller Chain that conform to BS 228-Din 8187 and ISO 606R Standards. They are manufactured to the Metric European Standard having the Squared Tooth Profile and a Boss one side.
As this Standard has now been adopted throughout Europe they should be identical and interchangeable with most if not all of the other manufactured Brands offered within the European Union.
Steel Sprockets, 8-40 tooth upto 3/4″ pitch, are produced in grade C45 and are suitable for Flame or Induction Hardening. Sizes outside of this range, depending on pitch and tooth size, can be either C45 or FE Steel.
Cast Iron Chainwheels : Grade GJL200 as standard, with increased Boss Diameter and Heavy Duty GG25 available upon request.

Heavy Duty castings for applications where High Impact loads are common or when increase strength is required? then please ask our Sales Department for details of our Heavy Duty Casting range in GG25 or our Casting Service when you require an Oversize Boss or you have a Special Pattern requirement such as a Shear Pin or Split Designs.
As a rough guide we would recommend that any boss diameter should be at least 1.5 times the shaft diameter it is required to fit onto.

Tooth sizes in C45 Steel and are suitable for Flame Hardening – Cast Iron are in Grade GJL200 as Standard with Increased Boss Diameter & Heavy Duty Grades available on request
Alt. Shaft Fixing
As an alternative to either Boring & Keywaying a pilot bore sprocket or using a Taper bored sprocket and Bush. Why not take a look at the range of Locking Bushes we now offer, as they eliminate the need for fixing via a Keyway-Key thereby providing the added benefit of a uniform distribution of the drive load over the entire diameter of the bush.
